The Lure

We prefer to be up front and straightforward in regards to our pricing. Therefore we have prepared this to inform you what other companies may do and the difference on how we price our web development projects. Others may lure you with a low initial price and then increase the total cost by adding items that should have been identified in the first place. They may start development with little or no planning and make numerous expensive changes during the project. This is called "planning as you go", which requires "add on fees" and "change fees", and is the most expensive way to proceed. There will always be a certain amount of additions and changes, however we will identify areas we see that may have been overlooked.

Plan Ahead, Save Money

Many companies are new to the web and don't know what to do; others don't have time and need help in creating goals, ideas and specifications. Web Design in Motion provides excellent planning skills. Since requirement gathering and specifications is the most important part of the development process it should be done with care. Either you spend time on good specifications or spend time and money later on changes. The further you are along in the web development process, the more costly changes are. There are always changes during a project but planning ahead can minimize these.

The Estimate

You may see fixed pricing for simple web sites with a certain amount of pages, images and links. If you know exactly what you want in your web site; number of pages, what will be on the site, number of links, navigation bar, and images then you are ready for an estimate. Most companies can provide a free estimate when a web site is completely defined and Web Design in Motion offers free estimates just like everyone else. You can review our "Sample Estimates" below or we can provide you with a free custom quote based on your specific requirements.

Our Rates

Our estimates are based on the time to produce the end result. Once your project is clearly defined we can provide a free estimate to complete the project. You can "ball park" an estimate by utilizing the sample scenarios below.

Sample Estimates

Simple Business Site - $300

• Up to 3 HTML pages (up to 2 1/2 screen lengths vertically each, 12pixels font)
• Up to 4 images
• Custom designed home page
• Up to 4 external links
• Additional Pages: $25.00 to $100 depending on the complexity and number of images

Hourly Rates

$50.00 per hour

Terms and payments

For sites under $2000 our standard terms are 50% payment of the estimate in advance and the balance on satisfactory completion. (This can be negotiated if required).

For sites over $2000 our terms are 30% payment of the estimate in advance and the balance in negotiable progress-payments.

Extended terms may be approved for 30, 60 and 90 days and certain finance charges will apply.
