In 1992, the Texas Association of Builders launched the Texas Star Awards - the only statewide tribute to excellence in the home building industry. This remarkable awards program showcases the outstanding work of Texas builders, architects, designers, marketing professionals and industry leaders to the public. Plus creates "friendly" competition and pushes the creativeness of our members to new industry levels.

The Star Awards was expanded in 2002 to include states from across the Sunbelt region of Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas and Mexico. With 59 categories to choose from and hundreds of entries each year - - it is an impressive feat to be identified as a Finalist, let alone a Winner.

The Star Awards will be held in conjunction with the Sunbelt Builders Show in Dallas.

Eligibility

Participation is restricted to builders, developers, remodelers and associates who are members in good standing with the Texas Association of Builders, Arkansas HBA, HBA of Louisiana, New Mexico HBA and Oklahoma State HBA. Individuals, products and advertising entries will be judged only if they were marketed or employed between April 15, 2001 and May 31, 2002.

Entry Fees

$125 per entry. Entries must be accompanied with a check. Make checks payable to Texas Association of Builders/ Star Awards. No entry will be accepted without payment.

How To Enter

Download a copy of the entry packet here. Read this entry packet carefully, paying special attention to the checklist on pages 18-20. There is no limit to the number of categories entered or the number of entries per category. All entries must include the completed appropriate entry form, and adhere to exact entry requirements and judging criteria. Failure to comply with these specifications will result in disqualification of entry and forfeiture of entry fees.

Mail or deliver your entire entry to: Texas Association of Builders, 510 W. 15th Street, Austin, TX 78701. Entries must be received at the Texas Association of Builders no later than 5 p.m., Friday, June 28, 2002. No entry will be accepted without payment.

Judging

All entries will be judged by a panel of industry experts from markets outside of the state of Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico and Oklahoma. Star Award committee members who have submitted entries will not participate in the preparation of entries for judging or the actual judging process.
